The nationally acclaimed Texas Shakespeare Festival is reopening its doors this summer with a full lineup of shows after cancelling last summer due to COVID-19.

The festival is carrying over the productions slated for the summer of 2020, which include The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Book of Will, Romeo & Juliet, The Bridges of Madison County and a world premier play for children, The Gnomes of Gnot-a-Hill.

Opening weekend is July 1-4 and the productions will run in rotating repertory Thursdays through Sundays until Aug. 1 in Van Cliburn Auditorium, located at 1611 S. Henderson Blvd. in Kilgore.

With the relaxation of COVID-19 protocols in accordance with Gov. Abbott’s recent declaration, capacity for the productions will be 100%, allowing for more patrons to attend the summer productions.

Face coverings are optional, although patrons are encouraged to wear a face-covering if they feel it is necessary.
