Standing tall for over one hundred years, The Redlands Hotel in downtown Palestine has been proudly serving travelers and locals alike with incredible rooms, wonderful meals, and a handful of other pleasant amenities. Let us show you why the Redlands is so special!

THE ROOMS

“We have 19 different rooms… All shaped different, all with different window aspects, color, and décor.”

Since 1915, housing visitors has always been a part of the Redlands’ rich history. Over the years, the building and its many, many rooms have received full-on makeovers by the design of the current owner, Jean Mollard. Jean shared with us that each room at the Redlands is unique, while still holding onto its historic roots. While touring many of these eclectic rooms, on various floors, we were captivated by their different styles and décor.

Room 209 was especially enjoyable. It’s a great stay for you and your special someone! This quaint space comes with everything you need, including a huge outdoor balcony that hovers right over Queen Street. If you’re looking for a larger space for the whole family, we suggest booking Room 400. This massive space can house six guests easily, with its two king-sized beds and daybed.

Good morning from Suite 209..

RESTAURANT & MORE

“The first thing we did was to put a restaurant on the first floor.”

What makes the Redlands stand out among your run-of-the-mill hotels is the wide variety of services that you can enjoy here while you stay. The most prominent feature is the Queen St. Grille, located on the first floor. According to Jean, this was the first revitalization that her and her family created once they bought the hotel back in 1976. Enjoy a causal dining experience with top-notch meals. We absolutely loved the Chicken Florentine!

It doesn’t stop with just a restaurant. The Redlands has a slew of other fun activities. We promise you won’t get bored here. Across from the grille, pop into the hotel’s very own art gallery, presented by David Tripp. View, and even purchase, some of David’s amazing watercolor paintings or works by other incredible artists.

As you explore the hotel you will find even more features to enjoy. Get your hair done at the Lemon Medow, buy a gift at the Redlands Boutique, enjoy a relaxing massage downstairs by a professional masseuse, celebrate a special occasion at “The Queen” Bar, and so much more! The Redlands even has their very own library in the basement if you can’t sleep or just need some peace and quiet.

PAST, PRESENT, & FUTURE

“History is also being made [here] every day.”

As you roam the hotel, you are met by many relics of the past. Photographs from the old railroad days of Palestine. Highly decorated military memorabilia from Jean’s husband’s time in the service. Original craftsmanship from the hotels first designers. You can spend hours just taking in all of the rich history and stories.

But as Jean stated, history and memories are being made here at the hotel all the time. From families staying for a little winter vacation to the Polar Express event at the Texas State Railroad to prom couples getting their pictures taken on the iconic indoor staircase. The Redlands Hotel is made for creating memorable moments. Won’t you come make some? It’s the perfect time to reserve your next weekend here at the Redlands!
