LeTourneau University is set to hold its annual Spring Masterworks Concert, featuring the works of Mozart, Ravel, and Fauré. This free event will take place on Monday, April 24, at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Longview at 7:00 PM.

The concert will be directed by Dr. Jim Taylor, Director of Fine Arts at LeTourneau University. The LeTourneau Singers and the Longview Civic Chorus and orchestra will perform a range of classical pieces, including Mozart’s Missa brevis in F Major, K. 275, which was composed by Mozart when he was just 21 years old.

In addition to Mozart’s masterpiece, the program will also feature two Impressionist children’s pieces - selections from Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite and Fauré's Dolly Suite. Two new works by contemporary composers are also included in the program: Dreamweaver, a cantata for piano and strings by Ola Gielo, based on a well-known Norwegian medieval folk poem Draumkvedet, and Cambridge Songs Suite No. 1, Dr. Taylor’s composition based on poems from an 11th-century manuscript housed at the Cambridge University Library.

Admission is free and open to the public.
