NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - Aboard the Disney Wonder, the Oceaneer’s Club is one special spot on the ship where kids can let their imaginations sail free.

“In here, you shrink down to the size of a toy,” David Hunt, entertainment manager for Disney Cruise Line, said. “That’s what we love.”

Hunt says different play areas are based on popular Disney films.

“We do so many different activities including Toy Story boot camp, where they learn to become a green army soldier,” Hunt said.

In Andy’s Room, little ones can hang out with those “Toy Story” favorites like Woody and the gang.

“Well, the first thing that stands out is of course our Slinky Slide,” Hunt said. “The kids love the Slinky Slide.”

Another room lets Marvel fans find their inner superhero.

“They get their own superpowers,” Hunt said. “And they can really explore and let their imaginations set sail in that room.”

Kids can let it all go while singing along with Else in this “Frozen”-themed playroom.

“So, this is Wandering Oaken’s Trading post,” Hunt said. “Yes, we have one right here on board.”

And don’t be surprised if your favorite characters pop up as you play the day away.

“In here, they might meet Woody and Jesse, maybe some of our Marvel characters as well,” Hunt said.

Hunt says the Oceaneer’s Club is for kids ages 3 to 12, and specially-trained Disney youth counselors are on hand. So, while parents are off exploring the ship, kids can plan their own day of fun.
