Alton Davis, owner of the arcade, expressed to us his lifelong passion for video games and his vision to provide a space where guests of all ages could come and enjoy both retro and up-to-date games.

As you enter the arcade, your eyes and ears will be drawn to the beautifully designed and incredibly fun gaming cabinets. They have tons of timeless classics like PAC-MAN and Space Invaders. Challenge your friends with a couple of rounds of Street Fighter or Moral Combat. Take on evil androids with the thrilling shooter game, Terminator 2! Or explore fifty retro games on one cabinet with the Atari 50!

Right across from the classic gaming section lies a wall decked out with giant widescreens and many of the hottest gaming systems out right now! Take a seat on their long row of benches and enjoy some of the most popular games out right now. Hop on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X and outlast your friends on Fortnite or Call of Duty! Compete in a fun, intense battle with some of Nintendo’s icon characters in Super Smash Bro Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch. Or mosey on down to my personal favorite gaming system, the Nintendo GameCube, and enjoy some Mario Party.

It’s the best of both worlds for gamers here at the Family Arcade! Where else can you enjoy the entire full spectrum of video games under one roof??

SAFE, CLEAN, & FUN!

The Family Arcade is a wonderful oasis for comradery and gaming. They pride themselves on holding a standard of no alcohol or tobacco and promoting an accepting, friendly environment. Parents can be at ease as they turn their children loose, but are also strongly encouraged to stay and hop in there with their kids to battle some aliens or race some sportscars!

In the back of the arcade there are a handful of physical games to play too! Shoot some hoops or enjoy some fun competition with round of billiards and air hockey.

And for the cherry on top, The Family Arcade offers a colorful menu of delicious Blue Bell Ice Cream! We got to try the Blue Monster. A sweet mixture of vanilla ice cream, chunks of chocolate crème cookies, cookie dough pieces. And as the name indicates, this ice cream is very, very BLUE!

We had a blast here and we know you will too! Pack up the kids and make your way to downtown Gilmer to make timeless memories over some classic and modern video games.
