Okay, so I am not very good at writing jokes. But the comedians who frequent Rose City Comedy in downtown Tyler are! If you are looking for a super fun night of laughing until you cry, we have the perfect comedy club for you!

WEEKLY SHOWS

“Three nights a week. Two Thursdays a month.”

From starting out doing just one show a week to now hosting a jammed-packed weekly schedule, Rose City Comedy has many opportunities to come hear some side-splitting jokes. Kristopher Blakeman, the owner, shared with us what a typical week looks like.

Mondays are their open mic nights. Ever wanted to give comedy a try? Well, here is your chance! Time to break out a few of those jokes you’ve been saving.

Occasionally on Thursdays, Rose City will host Locals Only, which is a comedy series highlighting comedians from the surrounding area. These nights are perfect to laugh with comedians who know all the quirks of East Texas living.

Friday Night Fresh is a hilarious series hosting traveling up-and-coming comedians! The sets are shorter, but you will be introduced to 5 or 6 comics. With so much variety, you are bound to find a new comedian that you’ll love!

Saturday Night Stand Up is the main event. These longer formatted sets are similar to what you would see on a T.V. special. These seasoned comedians will have you in tears with their well performed and hysterical content.

“It’s going to be bigggggggg!”

This summer, Rose City Comedy is partnering with Blackhawk Creek Grill in Whitehouse to bring some legendary talent to East Texas! You’ll have the chance to see Jon Reep, Chad Prather, and the Tim Meadows in an incredibly funny series of acts in the coming months. Tickets are available now!

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE

“It can be a liberating experience.”

According to Kristopher, comedy allows a person to have power over the dark things in life. He explained that what better way to challenge the scary obstacles of life than to laugh at them. The art of comedy is more than a meaningless joke. It’s a creative avenue to finding joy in an otherwise occasional bleak world.
