PIT STOP: The Standpipe Coffee House

When hitting the road, Pit Stops are a must; whether it’s to grab a quick snack or finding a place to stretch your legs. While traveling around East Texas, I am always on the lookout for a little local spot to visit. Today I stopped by The Standpipe Coffee House in Lufkin. Nested alongside all of the boutiques and local small businesses in downtown, Standpipe offers java, simple eats, and so much more!

I had their Criminal latte; a combination of espresso, milk, White Mocha, Caramel and Toffee Syrups! With the weather slightly warmer today, I had it iced, but the latte comes in a hot form, as well. I tried their Lavender Scone, to pair with my coffee. Warmed up by their barista, this pastry was the perfect match.

The Standpipe Coffee House offers so much to the Lufkin community, including live music and event nights. They even have a selection of coffee mugs and other gifts for sale. I bought a ceramic cup and a bag of their chocolate covered coffee beans on my way out. Next time you are passing through Lufkin and are in need of a quick pick-me-up, pull through to Standpipe! Be careful though, the laid-back and welcoming atmosphere may have you stay longer than you planned for.
