White Cottage Mercantile is more than just your regular store, it provides an experience that makes you want to keep coming back and see what you can discover next. Created by Roderick & Lisa Jones back in 2012, it all started with their handcrafted furniture while still under the name ‘Back Country Furniture Designs.’

“We started in 2012 handcrafting furniture slowly. We weren’t taking custom orders,” said Roderick. “We changed our name in 2019. In 2018, we entered a Go Texan contest for some of our furniture and we entered under White Cottage.” “We wanted to think of a name for our furniture, so we researched it and found the name White Cottage was actually this area before it was Center,” Lisa added.

And while the heart of the business starts with Roderick’s handcrafted furniture, it has only expanded over the years as White Cottage Mercantile has become a treasure trove of artisanal delights. The shelves are adorned with home décor of all kinds, gourmet foods, and the merchandise changes out with the season giving you the perfect reason to swing back by.

“We love selling tables to families because if there’s ever something going on in a family, most of the time it’s going to come out at the dining table,” said Lisa, with Roderick adding, “We’ve created our own style. We’re really good at what we do, and we put a lot of effort into it.”

More than just the products, it’s the experience that takes this destination beyond your typical shopping trip. It has become a place to not only bring the community together, but help families be able to come together in their own homes.

You can even have custom gift baskets made, either from what you pick out or letting the team at White Cottage know what the theme is, along with enjoying some tastings of the gourmet food products on Saturday mornings. Growing sections include the men’s section and a bridal section that is on the way as well. You can even register at White Cottage Mercantile because of the sheer number of products available within the store!

You can experience this enchanting space from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-Friday & 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Saturdays. They are located at 401 Hurst St in Center, TX.
