With a history running four generations deep, The Thomas Hotel in downtown Tyler provides a quick getaway, with an evening at the cocktail bar, providing southern comforts and traditional drinks that help you relax into the night.

The hotel opened at the start of August 2022 by Grace & Andrew Cryer. The namesake comes from Grace’s family line that consists of her great-grandfather Thomas Ramey Sr. (first president of the Texas Rose Festival), grandfather Thomas Ramey Jr., and father Thomas Ramey III. The Judge, the boutique cocktail bar within the lobby of The Thomas Hotel, is aptly named after Thomas Boyd Ramey Jr., who practiced law with Ramey & Flock and served as Chief Justice of the 12th Court of Appeals for over a decade.

On select evenings you can expect some live music, piano nights, and tasting nights while stopping by The Judge.

The Thomas Hotel itself is an 8-suite hotel across three floors, with an upper floor and basement. Each room is an upscale suite that provides a kitchenette and king bed, plus one room that is a two-bedroom suite.

During the day, the lobby is private for only the current guests, where local Tyler coffee & pastries are served each morning.

The Thomas Hotel is hard to miss while vising downtown Tyler, with beautiful signage to catch your eyes before you visit. The public is welcome to enjoy drinks at The Judge Monday-Saturday from 3:00-8:00 PM, and get to check out the lobby.
